A&M Baseball set to travel to DFW for clash with Dallas Baptist
Texas A&M has one last contest before beginning SEC play against Vanderbilt. The Aggies will travel north to face Dallas Baptist in their first true road contest of the season. The Patriots have had strong squads over the past few years as along with Texas A&M, DBU is one of five programs to win 40 or more games since 2015. After a bit of an iffy start to the season, Dallas Baptist has rattled off seven straight wins, including one over then #25, Oklahoma. The Patriots are a fringe top-25 squad and will look to knock off the Aggies at Horner Ballpark in Dallas.
Texas A&M has elected to start Chandler Jozwiak for this Tuesday night contest. The sophomore lefty has struggled with control issues at times this year, walking seven batters while hitting another three. However, Jozwiak also shows potential with twenty strikeouts on the year through 12.1 innings pitched. This will be a good test for Jozwiak against a talented team in DBU. For the Patriots, junior right-hander MacGregor Hines will get the start. The College Station native has a 6.23 ERA through 4.1 innings pitched.
Coming off a series win over Gonzaga, Texas A&M will look to get another good out-of-conference win in before starting SEC play. While winning on the road against a tough DBU squad is no easy task, the Patriots make for a great final practice test before the Aggies really get into the meat of their season. The game is set to begin at 6:30 PM. Texas A&M fans can either listen on SportsRadio 1150 and/or 102.7 The Zone, or watch along on DBU Athletics’ YouTube channel.
