Texas A&M looking to get momentum back against Alabama
It’s no secret that the SEC is likely the toughest conference in baseball. Texas A&M is feeling the effects of that tough conference schedule having lost five of their last six contests. Now the Aggies will look to bounce back in a road series against the SEC West last place Crimson Tide.
John Doxakis will be on the mound Friday night for the Aggies after a solid performance against Mississippi State last Thursday. The junior lefty has a 1.99 ERA on the season. The Crimson Tide are slated to start Wil Freeman, a junior right-hander. Freeman has a 4.94 ERA on the season.
Friday’s contest can be watched on SECN+ at 6:00 PM CT.
Asa Lacy threw a complete game shutout last week against Mississippi State and will look to build on that against Alabama on Saturday. The sophomore lefty has 108 strikeouts on the season, ranking eighth in the nation. Alabama has Brock Love penciled in as the Saturday starter. Love is a junior right-hander with a 4.74 ERA.
Saturday’s contest will be on SECN+ at 2:00 PM CT.
Sunday has no announced starters yet but is scheduled to air live on the SEC Network at 2:00 PM CT.
Anything less than a sweep of the Tide will be a disappointment for a Texas A&M team that could still have an outside chance at hosting a regional pending the results against Alabama and Arkansas. However, Texas A&M will have to produce more runs than they have at the plate over the last two weeks for that to happen. Braden Shewmake and the rest of the Aggie lineup need a big performance this week in Tuscaloosa.
